The puzzlement over a pushy ghost

For those who follow paranormal news stories, a strange tale from Chile has been making the rounds.

Recently, a woman was simply trying to walk into her lawyer's office, chatting to the receptionist, when something unusual happened. If you look at the footage played on Chilean TV, she seems to fall over suddenly, as if flung backwards.

Pushy ghosts in Chile

So is this lawyer's office a haunted place, or is the woman herself being followed by the paranormal?

She didn't just fall over, you see. Not according to her own account, anyway.

"I wasn't aware of anybody in front of me as I passed the reception desk talking to a girl," the woman, Cecilia Carrasco, told reporters, "and as I looked towards the receptionist I suddenly felt two pairs of hands shove me over."

However, it wasn't just some young Chilean boy trying to be a bully - it was an invisible entity that nobody else saw.

The woman had to be taken to hospital with head injuries sustained from the fall.

So is the office haunted by a spirit? Local parapsychologist Rodolfo Orozco told reporters he was curious, but ultimately uncertain without further research.

"It certainly seems as if something supernatural happened here, but in order to investigate it more we would really need to look at the energy levels in the building, and so far we have not been invited to investigate by the owners."

Unfortunately we may never know if there is a spirit lurking in that Chilean lawyer's office, as an investigation is largely unlikely. However, time will most certainly reveal if a dangerous spirit attacks anyone else. Needless to say, Ms. Carrasco is now afraid to leave her house, for fear that a ghost may be after her.

If you'd like to try and spot some ghosts of your own, book one of our paranormal investigations tonight. Helmets optional.

This was such a fun read—I love how the ghost stories blend mystery with a touch of humour. But it also got me thinking about how easily rumours or strange encounters, even if lighthearted, can evolve into damaging claims when they spread online or through word of mouth. I’ve seen cases where reputations suffered because people didn’t act fast enough. If anything ever crossed the line from spooky fun to personal harm, there’s real legal help here for that. Knowing your rights around defamation is just as important as knowing what’s hiding in the shadows—especially when truth gets twisted.
