What Attracts Ghosts

Have you ever experienced what you believe to be a ghost? Have you lived in a house or building you thought was haunted? Whether these experiences terrified or intrigued you, they probably left you with a lot of unanswered questions.

Whether you’re a fan of the supernatural or not, you want to feel like you are in control of yourself and your surroundings. Ghosts and hauntings can leave you feeling scared and vulnerable, but after reading this post, you’ll be better equipped to deal with paranormal situations.

What is a Ghost

Before we get into the details of what attracts ghosts to certain people and places, let’s discuss what a ghost is and what it is not.

Ghosts are grounded energies. They could be human, but other types of energies exist. Ghosts are not spirits, at least not when I’m talking about them, and there’s a big difference between ghosts and spirits.

Spirits are the souls of people who have died and are about to pass over or are free to come and go from this earthly realm as they please. A spirit may come to visit loved ones or communicate an important message, but they are not trapped here.

Unlike spirits, ghosts are trapped here. They’re what I call grounded. I’ve written about grounded souls before in my posts What Happens to Murderers When They Die, and What Happens to the Soul After Suicide.

Grounded souls are trapped on earth until they can understand that they have died, accepted the light, or understand the errors in their ways and the consequences of their actions.

What Attracts Ghosts to People

Certain people are more appealing to ghosts. For instance, grounded energies are more interested in psychics and mediums because they know we can sense them. A ghost will always make its presence evident to me. I really feel it if I walk into a place riddled with grounded energies.

Being plagued by grounded spirits doesn’t mean you’re a psychic-medium. Ghosts like to latch on to people who are dealing with difficult situations or negative emotions. People that are passive, experience a lot of fear, and hold on to anger attract ghost. People that have been depressed and aren’t living their lives, they’re just existing, are targets for ghosts.

If you’ve had a previous ghostly encounter, an experience that left you fearful, ghosts sense that and they seek it out. People that have been afraid of ghosts, or have had a terrible experience, continue to be taunted by ghosts because they’re not taking a stand.

What Attracts Ghosts to Buildings

Just as people can be haunted, so can buildings. Actually, even objects can be haunted, but this is less common.

So, why is a particular building more appealing to grounded energies? It could be because the energies are tied to the past of that building, or it could be because the building’s current state is appealing to ghosts.

Older homes and buildings that have been empty, or are neglected and in poor condition, attract ghosts because they know they can stay there without being evicted. Old, abandoned buildings will often have many grounded energies as inhabitants.

What to do About Ghosts

If you personally are being haunted by a ghost, you know it’s not fun. Grounded spirits are like leeches that drain energy. To combat the uninvited entity take back control of your life! Stand-up to the ghost and attack the problem at the root. This usually means improving your own mood and sending good vibrations and energy out into the world.

If you are dealing with depression, take the necessary steps to get help and remedy it.

Beware of what energies you invite into your circle. Often people will perform a ritual and invite everything to come through. If you’re looking to attract spirits, ask the ones you want. During the ceremony surround yourself with good energy and with good intention.

We are talking about ghosts. You don’t want to attract anything that you don’t know what you’re playing with. When you open that door, anything can come through, energies that are not human and energies that are nasty. They will suck the life out of you.

A haunted house or building is a different situation. People will move into these places and in a few months move out. The more haunted a building is, the more energy it attracts. Situations can develop where a professional is needed to perform a cleansing on the property, but there are steps you can take on your own.

* Cleanse your home with smudging or holy water

* Keep your home in good repair, organized, and clean

* Be positive and energetic in your home

* Only invite positive energies in
